Influenza vaccination campaign

The influenza vaccination campaign will take place in the Laurentians starting November 1st. We invite you to inform vulnerable people in your area and encourage them to receive the vaccine.

For the 2018-2019 season, in light of the recommendations of experts from the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec (INSPQ), the vaccination program is modified to focus on the clienteles most at risk of developing complications of the disease.

Thus, the groups targeted by the influenza vaccination program are the following:

  • People with certain chronic diseases aged 6 months and older;
  • Pregnant women with certain chronic diseases, regardless of the stage of pregnancy;
  • Pregnant women in good health during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters of their pregnancy;
  • People aged 75 and over;
  • Relatives residing under the same roof and caregivers of the above mentioned persons and relatives of children under 6 months;
  • Health care workers, especially those providing direct care to patients in hospitals or CHSLDs.

Children aged 6 to 23 months and healthy adults aged 60 to 74 are no longer in the target groups for vaccination. These people are now considered to be at low risk of complications. However, those who wish can receive the vaccine free of charge if they request it.

New this year, appointments are mandatory for Lac-des-Deux-Montagnes, Pays-d’en-Haut, Summits, Saint-Jérôme and Thérèse-De Blainville. Those wishing to be vaccinated will need to make an appointment at www.clicsanté.ca or call 1-888-664-2555.

The Argenteuil and Antoine-Labelle territories will offer only walk-in vaccination clinics.
