Since October 22, 2002, the Sûreté du Québec has been present throughout the MRC d’Argenteuil. This includes the following municipalities: Mille-Isles, Wentworth, Gore, Lachute, Saint-André-d’Argenteuil, Brownsburg-Chatham, Grenville, Grenville-sur-la-Rouge and Harrington.
A public security council was set up, bringing together the elected representatives of the municipalities, the prefect of the MRC and the police director. It monitors the service agreement between the MRC and the Sûreté du Québec, assesses the services provided, and carries out annual policing priorities.
