The Municipality makes available a list of community organizations offering services in the area. This recognition brings a significant contribution to improving citizens’ quality of life.

Café Partage

Economic Grocery

The economical grocery store offered by Café Partage is a great alternative to food shopping. It allows the people who use it to do their grocery shopping at a lower cost on a regular basis. Here is the list of food and products offered by the organization. However, prices may vary according to promotions and the level of supply and demand.

Food is delivered to Town Hall every other Tuesday starting at 11:30 a.m. Please note that it is important to pick up your order before 4:30 p.m. the same day.

Home Meals

Le Café Partage offers a variety of ready-to-eat, affordable and comforting dishes. Meals are prepared weekly, according to demand. However, it is always possible to complete the order with dishes that have been frozen.

The cost of the meal is only $6.00 and the organization offers delivery service to Town Hall every other Tuesday starting at 11:30 a.m.

Fruit and vegetable healthy basket

Just as the economic grocery and home meals, baskets of fruits and vegetables are available to the residents of Mille-Isles. In fact, this service is offered year-round and proposes a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. The boxes are delivered to Town Hall every other Tuesday starting at 11:30 a.m. Although the formats offered vary according to needs, the content cannot be personalized or modified. However, these baskets remain an excellent way to reduce expenses.

Here are the different sizes of baskets and their prices:

  • small: $12
  • medium: $16
  • large: $22

Frozen meals

The Centre d’action bénévole d’Argenteuil offers a variety of frozen meals for seniors.

The order must be completed by phone at 450 438-2958 ext. 2610, Monday to Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or by email at dbelanger@mille-isles.ca.

A receipt for tax purposes is available for people aged 70 and over.

Centre d'entraide d'Argenteuil

Need food assistance?

The Centre d’entraide d’Argenteuil helps low-income people get food for free. In order to obtain this service, a request for food aid must be made.

To do this, you must complete these three steps:

Step 1: Contact Ms. Hélène Messier at 450 562-5151 ext. 101 to make an appointment.

Step 2: Have the following documents at your meeting:

  • proof of income for each adult living at the same address (current year’s taxes or social assistance papers);
  • Proof of residence for all individuals 18 years of age and older (a bill, driver’s license or social assistance stub);
  • For families, a document indicating that they have dependent children (family allowance paper or drug card).

Step 3: After your acceptance, you must pick up the foodstuffs at the Trinity Community Center, located at 2 Cambria Road in Gore, on Thursdays between 1:45 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.

La maison de la famille

Come and chat in my backyard…

This FREE service is offered to parents of children 0-17 years old and is dedicated to the families of the MRC d’Argenteuil.

The goal is to meet the needs of families. This service will be offered in the summer of 2020 and it will take different forms, depending on the context. The meetings will take place outdoors with physical distancing. Whether it is during a walk, a discussion in a park or in the yard, this accompaniment will guide you to other services, supports and referrals.

Children’s games

These are simple and stimulating game ideas to do with your children. The activities are FREE and do not require any purchase of materials. In addition, this service is dedicated to the families of the MRC d’Argenteuil.

In fact, this approach promotes the development of the child from birth to the age of 5 years. In addition, the games proposed respect the rhythm of the youngest children, stimulate their language and give great importance to the parent-child relationship. Activities are done outdoors with physical distance. However, explanatory meetings can be conducted by telephone, Messenger or by video.

Interactive reading activities (IRA)

IRA programs are FREE activities dedicated to residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil, from birth to 5 years of age.

Each month, a new book and literature is GIVEN to families who have registered. In fact, the book to be explored and told offers a moment of fun and relaxation between parent and child. In addition, access to the private group on Facebook is available to parents.

Follow-up is done outdoors, respecting physical distance. However, the explanatory meeting can be done by phone, Messenger or by video.

Activities 0-5 years

Families with young children are invited to take advantage of FREE activities offered by the Maison de la Famille and the Municipality of Mille-Isles.

Here’s the 2020 calendar:

  • Friday, September 11, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Camping, at Hammond-Rodgers Park;
  • Friday, October 23, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Halloween, at Hammond-Rodgers Park;
  • Friday, November 20, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. The balloons, at Strong Community Hall.
